In addition to 6-string fretless bass, I play a few other instruments...

The Oud is a middle eastern stringed instrument, fretless with double sets of strings. It has a distinctive and beautiful melodic tone. In addition to traditional middle eastern music, I like to use it in jazz and gothic music.

The Doublebass is the oldest, largest and most magnificent of the string family. In addition to Scott Lafaro and Bertram Turetzsky, my double bass playing is influenced by Gnanan Sintir music.

Open chords on a twelve string guitar are a very beautiful sound. I like the playing of Ralph Towner and Jimmy Page very much.

"I look at the bass simply as a beautiful instrument. It's not beholden to any particular role in music and neither am I."
- Kungha

After years of searching I found a wonderful sounding acoustic bass guitar, a Guild over twenty years old. I perform Scott Lafaro, Bach, and my own solo compositions influenced by the definitive and inspiring playing of Jonas Hellborg.

The newest invention in my string family is this six string electric upright. An awesome sound for rock, it also emulates the sound of a acoustic strings perfectly and produces incredible sounds bowed through effects. It is an amazingly powerful and versatile instrument.

My oldest "child", my electric bass, was designed by me and built by Graphite Guitar Systems. A similar model, the Kungha-Bass, all wood with a three octave neck will be available in summer '98 through Master Luthier Mark Garza.
